"Never Gonna Permit You Go" is a song by American vocaliser Tina Moore. Originally released as a single in May 1995 from her self-titled debut anthology, the vocal reached number 27 on the US Billboard Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart. In August 1997, a United kingdom garage remix of the song by Kelly M was released on the Delirious label and became a meridian-10 hit in the Britain, peaking at number 7 on the UK Singles Nautical chart. On the Eurochart Hot 100, it reached number 23 in September 1997. Several remixes are included on the CD and 12-inch formats, such as the 'Tuff Jam Archetype Song Mix' and 'Warehouse Junkie Mix'.

Disquisitional reception [edit]

Larry Motion picture from Billboard wrote that Moore "skips and slinks over hand-clapping R&B rhythm with a youthful, thoroughly appealing style." He noted that "there are moments when her fluttering range takes on a tone that is notably shut to Mariah Carey", and complimented its "festive sing-forth chorus."^[2] A reviewer from Daily Record said it is "impressive".^[3] Ian Hyland from Sunday Mirror gave the song eight out of ten. He added, "All the big labels were fighting to go their hands on this dance monster. Top tune in the same mould as nautical chart biggies Ultra Nate and Rosie Gaines. Watch it fly."^[4]

DJ Magazine ranked information technology number 62 in their list of the "Summit 100 Club Tunes" in 1998.^[6]

MTV Dance placed "Never Gonna Let You Get" at number 92 in their listing of "The 100 Biggest xc's Trip the light fantastic toe Anthems of All Time" in November 2011.^[vii]

Porcys listed the vocal at number 54 in their ranking of "100 Singles 1990-1999" in 2012.^[viii]

In November 2016, UK duo Gorgon Urban center compiled a listing of their top UK garage songs for Billboard, with "Never Gonna Let You Go" at number nine.^[nine]

The Guardian ranked the song at number 11 in their list of "The best Great britain garage tracks - ranked!" in 2019. They wrote:

An early sign of Great britain garage's chart entreatment, this track by a minor U.s.a. R&B singer was transformed into a club smash and a mainstream hit by the application of a monster bassline and the kind of skipping vanquish that would come to be known as two-step. This B-side remix – by Kelly G, an acolyte of Chicago house legend Steve "Silk" Hurley – became an A-side two years on.^[10]

Redbull.com included the vocal in their list of "10 underground U.k. garage classics that nonetheless audio fresh today".^[11]

Capital Xtra included the song in their list of "The Best Old-School Garage Anthems of All Time".^[12]
